In the meantime, the Jets will promote charity event #FootballForFires on the front of their home jerseys.
Some of the biggest names in world football, including Dwight Yorke, Claudio Marchisio, ex-Jet Emile Heskey and former Socceroo Mark Bosnich will come together for the #FootballForFires match on Saturday, May 23 at ANZ Stadium.
Proceeds from ticket sales and merchandise will go to the FFA Football Relief Fund and be distributed to grassroots clubs which have been impacted by bushfires.
"When the football for fires game was being put together, we thought why not put the event on the front of our shirts to help promote the game," McKinna said.
McKinna said there were a number of Jets fans throughout Northern NSW who had been devastated by the fires.
"You see people supporting the club through think and thin when they have just lost their house, lost everything," he said. "We asked what we can do as a club. They said there were a lot of people worse off than them.
"This is a chance for us to do our little bit. We can wear the jersey with pride, rather than it being empty or putting Ledman on it for the last five games."
Northern NSW Football are supporting the Football For Fires event and have organised buses to transport people to and from the game at a small cost of $10.
The federation and Member Zones committed to conducting a #FootballForFires round on this same weekend. Clubs are encouraged to implement local activities which raise money for the restoration and improvement of local football clubs and facilities.
Inspirations Paint feature on the front of the Jets away strip, but they are the only A-League club without a major backer on the home kit.
"At the beginning of the season and then around Christmas we had two companies we thought we had - one local and one national," McKinna said.
The Jets have moved off the bottom of the ladder and McKinna said it was important that they continue to climb.
"Results affect everything that happens at a club on a daily basis," he said. "If we get beat, it affects the buzz in the office, it affects training, it affects sponsorship, it affects crowds ... it is so related to good results.
"You can't win every game, it is about being competitive. A good run to the end of the season will definitely help things for next season."
