Italiano produced a series of spectacular saves during an early onslaught in the Jets' 1-all draw with Western Sydney at Bankwest Stadium on Saturday.
It was Italiano's fifth straight game in goals after replacing an injured Glen Moss and followed a shaky effort in the 4-3 win over the Mariners the previous week.
Moss, who is retiring at the end of the season, is back in full training but Robinson will stick with Italiano for the visit by Victory on Saturday.
"Lewis is playing great," he said after the game on Saturday. "He made a small error last week and he held his hand up. I want people to take responsibility. The position is his to lose."
Robinson made one forced change, bringing in Angus Thurgate for Ben Kantarovski (quadriceps), against Wanderers.
"If you are in the team, you have to stay in the team," he said. "If you are out of the team you have to push someone out at training. I won't be making 10 changes, but will I look at certain areas? Possibly. Everyone will get a chance between now and the end of the season."
