THE 'Dalton' brand has been synonymous in the Newcastle region since the early 1980s when well-respected Novacastrians Bob and Helen Dalton commenced operations in 1984 as Robert Dalton Real Estate.

Having built an excellent reputation working as sales agents in real estate in Newcastle, they acquired the original business of Hughes and Hamley.

The organisation has seen the growth of new offices and partners during its existence.

In 1996 David Noble and David Phelan became partners with Robert Dalton.

The growth of the business quickly attracted new partners and mergers with Andrew McGavin 1999, Lisa Macklin in 2005 for the New Lambton Office.

During 2009, well known local agent Anthony Merlo joined the partnership as a director, focusing on the development of the brand by recruiting several high-profile experienced agents.

In 2014 Robert Merlo became a partner to oversee the property investment management operation.

Today, the company's mission is to modernise and progress the experience of buying and selling real estate by cultivating a spirit of collaboration, innovation and integrity with new and existing clients.

By creating sustainable and predictable systems to facilitate success for their long-standing experienced agents, ensuring clients are provided with maximum return on their investment when either selling, purchasing or leasing their property in all market conditions.

A recent refresh to the Dalton branding acknowledges the changes to The Junction, Merewether and Cooks Hill that typified by historic subdivision plans now portrayed in the office window display and reception area for all to see.

"As our team has grown, it's become more important to identify and outline the core values that guide and define our brand and business strategies for the future," Mr Noble said.

"As our reputation is well respected in the industry, our property management group is continually being asked by many landlords to take over existing managements from other agencies in addition to the new business we obtained from word of mouth referrals."
