Police have charged a man with breaching a public health order and drug possession after finding a throwing axe in his car. Police spoke to a 30-year-old man sitting in the driver's seat of a car parked in Prosperity Drive, Morisset, on Thursday morning. They allege the man did not give a reasonable excuse for being there and found methamphetamine and a throwing axe in the car. The man was arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station, where he was charged with possessing a prohibited drug, failing to comply with a public health order, being in custody of an offensive implement and breaching his bail conditions. He appeared via video link at Newcastle Local Court on Thursday and was granted conditional bail. He is due to appear in Toronto Local Court on May 8.
