Natalie Tonks and Chasse Ede, of PRD Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, sold the five-bedroom residence on three-quarters of an acre at 5 Ridge Lane.
The New Lambton home featured cathedral ceilings, marble tiles, wool carpet and extensive formal and informal living and dining areas. It offered verandahs overlooking the property's in-ground swimming pool, manicured grounds and distinctive Jacaranda border.
Known as "The Ridge", it is set privately along New Lambton's ridge line with panoramic views of the city and offers a private haven of luxury and tranquility.
Since purchasing in 2006 for a then suburb record $2.7 million, the owner undertook internal renovations and completed extensive landscaping of the grounds, including sandstone edging, manicured hedges, a four-season flowering display and vegetables gardens. They also purchased a portion of a neighbouring block and established a mini-orchard. That $2.7 million mark had not been surpassed until the property changed hands again.
