Ms Vico, of Viking Realty, marketed the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home which is built into the headland at 192 Marks Point Road with a guide of $2.45 million to $2.695 million. It was listed for sale in March and attracted a mix of Sydney and local buyers, all owner-occupiers, with a Sydney purchaser securing the property for an undisclosed sum.
"It's quite an iconic home," Ms Vico said. "Anyone that's coming up the lake, up through the channel, would know it. You can't miss this house; it's a very well-known home."
The home has panoramic water views and features a top-level master suite, self-contained flat on the bottom floor, bathrooms on each level and two kitchens.
The biggest sale for Marks Point, according to Australian Property Monitors data, has been $3 million, paid for a waterfront home also in Marks Point Road in 2016.
A new watermark was set for Lake Macquarie in January when LJ Hooker Belmont's Joshua O'Doherty sold Jeff McCloy's waterfront home at 148 Ross Street, Belmont for $4.25 million.
