But Covid-19 has imposed drastic restrictions on movement this year forcing everyone to bunker down at home.
When vehicles, vans, motorhomes and boats lay idle in the garage or shed, maintenance can become an issue.
Now, as restrictions begin to lift and the possibility of travel becomes likely, it's a good idea to get your equipment serviced, according to Ryan Burgess, from Cooranbong Auto Electrics.
"The pandemic has had a big effect on people especially the Grey Nomads, retired people etc.
"A lot of them love to travel during winter, head north, do the loop - that sort of thing.
"But with borders closed and restrictions limited to essential travel, that just hasn't been possible.
"Vehicles, caravans, campers, boats etc need regular maintenance at the best of time let alone during a pandemic.
"It's a good idea to get things checked before you get back out on the road, so you have peace of mind everything is safe.
"Cooranbong Auto Electrics has all hygiene and safety procedures in place to ensure customers can feel safe to bring their vehicles to us to make sure that they are up to scratch so that when restrictions ease allowing people to go about their lives they will be ready to hit the road/water."
