BEACH WATCH

LIGHT and variable winds and some clean conditions for today. Shorebreaks and reefs, depending on the tide, should have OK waves at times. Reefs on incoming tide and shoreys on run-out tide. Swell from the east to southeast at 1 to 1.5m. Wind light northwest to west tending southwest to southeast. First up on the low tide try along the beach at Nobbys and shorebreaks at Newcastle beach, South Bar and Merewether. Cowrie and Bar reef towards afternoon high. Burwood, Redhead and Moonie to the south. Fingal and One Mile up at Port Stephens. A few patches of kelp and one or two late season blue bottles. Sweeps in southern corners. Water temp 18C.
