BEACH WATCH
FRESH offshore winds for the day and still some swell about but the near complete lack of banks are compressing the crowds on the inner reef breaks. Best to get in early for the run-out tide. Swell from the east to southeast at 1 to 1.5m. Wind out of the northwest to west will start to ease during the afternoon. First up while tide's in try the reefs at Bar beach and Merewether. Newcastle beach, south Bar and Nobbys best on low. Cowrie during afternoon. Redhead, Frenchmans and Catho to the south. Samurai and Buribi up at Port Stephens. Shorebreaks are sanding up with long flat shallow shorebreaks due to the gutters.Water temp 17C. - Dave Anderson
