Lake Macquarie council is seeking community input to develop a new multicultural plan it hopes will nurture, celebrate and grow the city's diverse community.

The council hopes to ensure a high level of participation by new arrivals and multicultural residents for the draft 2020-23 plan.
"We want to hear from the community about how we can improve, and how we can achieve greater acceptance of cultural diversity in our community," manager community partnerships Andrew Bryant said.
"We are in frequent discussion with a broad range of stakeholders across the city, but we are always keen to hear from more."
Lake Macquarie mayor Kay Fraser said more than 10 per cent of the city's residents had been born overseas.
"Now, more than ever, we must demonstrate that Lake Macquarie is a place where people of all races, cultures, nationalities and religions are respected, welcomed, and celebrated," she said.
