POLICE are appealing for witnesses to the stabbing of a woman at Waratah Village Shopping Centre.

NSW Police said emergency services were called around 2pm on Sunday to the shopping centre, where they found a woman with a stab wound to her arm.
The woman, 26, was taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment.
Newcastle City Police District officers have established multiple crime scenes in the centre car park and started making inquiries.
Officers have been told the woman was stabbed by a man who fled the scene.
Police have not found the man, or made any arrests.
Anyone who saw the incident or the events leading up to it has been asked to contact police immediately.

POLICE have set up a crime scene at Waratah Village Shopping Centre after a woman was stabbed.
A NSW Police spokesperson said on Sunday afternoon that officers had not made an arrests over the stabbing of the woman.
Several police vehicles are at the site and police have established a crime scene.
A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said a woman in her 20s received a stab wound to her forearm and was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
