Sawyers Gully trainer Darryl Thomas believes Xerri, Peaky Pub and Total Quality can continue his hot streak on Saturday in races at The Gardens and Wentworth Park.
Peaky Pub and Total Quality will contest the $5700-to-the-winner Red Dog Maiden Series Final (515 metres) at The Gardens, while Xerri will chase the $10,000 first prize in the 5th Grade Thank You Owners Series Final (520m) at headquarters.
The three heat wins last Saturday started a week where Thomas had six victories from as many starters across four meetings.
Xerri's win was on his debut at Wentworth Park and Thomas expected him to be even better in the final.
"I was really happy with him, but this is one of the best races you will see on paper," Thomas said. "Box four is not ideal but there doesn't seem to be a lot of pace around him. I think he's not drawn too bad when it comes to what dogs are around him. I expect him to nearly be in front at the first corner.
"He'll improve a hell of a lot, too. That run last week was his first at 500 for six weeks, so he'll definitely be better."
At The Gardens, Peaky Pub (29.81 seconds) was easily the fastest qualifier but he has an awkward draw in six. Total Quality (30.1) is in box eight.
"Peaky Pub should go well, he's just drawn bad but he looks hard to beat if he can step at the start," he said. "Total Quality could be a real big improver. I was really happy with his run in the heat. He did so much wrong and he was really green, so he could run some fast time if he gets it right."
At The Gardens on Friday night, trainer Barry Gibbons had a winning double with Chrissie Banner and Lilly Banner.
