Avery Property Professionals sold a luxurious, six-bedroom, six-bathroom residence set on over 5000 square metres of waterfront reserve land at 17B Payten Street. The home had a private cinema, 20-metre pool, spa and tennis court. It sold for an undisclosed sum but the Newcastle Herald believes it was marketed with a guide of $4 million and secured by local buyers after interest from Sydney and the Hunter Valley.
There were 12 registered bidders, including nine online, for the auction of an older-style home on a block 1472 square metres in size at 73 Lorna Street in Waratah that sold under the hammer for $790,000. It was marketed by First National Newcastle City with a guide of $580,000 to $630,000.
First National's other recent sales include $760,000 prior to auction for a tightly held three-bedroom home at 5 Benaud Street, Charlestown marketed with a guide of $690,000 to $750,000 and what is believed to be a record sale for a contemporary home at 8 Mitchell Street in Tighes Hill. The sale price was undisclosed but the property had a guide of $990,000 to $1.04 million.
Belle Property Charlestown sold a one-of-a-kind home at 1 Serbin Close in Cardiff Heights for $600,000.
