The Cessnock trainer-driver combination struck success for a third straight time on Major Bob at Newcastle International Paceway last week, meaning Hughes reached the century mark having officially started in the gig less than two years ago.
But with around 60 days left in the 2019-20 campaign, driver Hughes sits on 87 victories statewide and the Maitland-raised 17-year-old could clock up another type of hundred.
"He's got 13 more to go," trainer Harmey said.
"It's a big achievement to reach 100 for his career, but it would be sensational to get 100 for the season.
"He hasn't even turned 18 yet and he's spent almost three of the first 10 months suspended."
Hughes noted his turnaround in fortunes since taking up work at Harmey's stables around 12 months ago.
"I probably only had three winners before that and now I've got 100," Hughes said.
"Hopefully I can get 100 this season."
He has a friendly rivalry with fellow driver Tom Ison.
However, Ison is up by two on the Harness Racing NSW tally with 89.
Hughes and Ison both saluted at Tamworth on Thursday via Yosemite and Believe In Heaven respectively.
Hughes is booked for the opening five events at Newcastle on Friday and he rates Corbaux the best chance in the third.
Hughes has also been listed in the last three races at the same track on Monday with Azur Express, Huey Lewis and Kanye Crusader.
