A retreat-like property in Macquarie Hills has lasted less than 10 days on the market with selling agent Tony Reville saying buyers are showing an increased appetite for "lifestyle blocks".
Mr Reville reported 63 groups through the luxurious property at 22 Blaxland Road as well as 128 direct enquiries and multiple offers before it was sold for an undisclosed sum.
The five-bedroom, four-bathroom residence with a gas-heated pool and spa and no shortage of entertaining spaces was set on a private block 3876 square metres in size with a bush backdrop.
It enjoyed one of Lake Macquarie's most exclusive addresses and was marketed with a guide of $1.5 million.
"I'm astonished by how many people are looking for large lifestyle blocks," Mr Reville said. "There are a lot of buyers looking for that bit of space and we can't service them due to a lack of this kind of property."
Robinson Property's Mike Flook has sold a five-bedroom house at 32 Wrightson Avenue in Bar Beach for $2.6 million. Built in the 1960s as two flats on land once used as the tennis court for the grand residence next door, the home was redesigned by owner and architect Debra McKendry-Hunt in 2006.
A strikingly renovated four-bedroom house at 45 McMichael Street in Maryville was sold by Belle Property Charlestown's Joshua Lloyd for $1.05 million before auction.
