The new-look series was set to be launched in April as a three-tier structured competition comprising championship, open and under 23 divisions in place of the existing two-tier structure of championship and 23s.
All sport was put on hold in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Last month, Newcastle Netball announced competition would return on July 25 to be played over 10 rounds will no finals. The association had been working towards a potential July 18 competition start date but had been in a holding pattern until more clarity regarding guidelines was forthcoming.
The decision to proceed was made at a meeting with member clubs on June 23 but competition resumption at the time still remained subject to the Public Health Order and council approval. Clubs were given the green light to start training at National Park Netball Courts during the week in preparation for the July 25 start.
The revised competition will still feature the intended three-level divisions. Points will be awarded per game and will go towards an overall club champion. Team line-ups can change weekly with a structured borrowed-player system available while adhering to a one-game per-player per-Saturday COVID-19 policy.
The eight clubs set to contest the club championship are West Leagues, BNC, The Junction Hotel, Kotara South, Nova, Inner Glow, South Leagues and University.
