Police have charged a man on the Mid North Coast for allegedly grooming a teenager online for sex.

Strike Force Trawler detectives arrested the 26-year-old from Taree on Wednesday.
Police said investigators began engaging with the man online in May.
The man believed he was speaking with a 14-year-old girl and allegedly engaged in conversations about sexually explicit acts he wished to perform on the child and also allegedly sent explicit material.
The man is also accused of arranging to meet the 14-year-old in person.
Police arrested the man at Forster just before 11am on Wednesday and charged him with two counts of using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material, possess/control child abuse material using a carriage service and using a carriage service to procure a child under 16 for sex.
When they arrested the man, detectives also allegedly found a mattress in the back of his vehicle.
He was refused bail.
