Singleton (9.17-71), who surged within one win of the 2019 decider, finished on top of the Bulldogs (10.3-63) in a first-round affair where the lead changed at least four times.
Elsewhere in the men's competition Killarney Vale (8.15-63) edged out Gosford (7.8-50), Harrison Pitt bagged eight goals for Terrigal Avoca (28.20-188) against Nelson Bay (3.6-24), Newcastle City (17.11-113) easily accounted for Wyong Lakes (3.4-22) and Cardiff (15.12-102) beat Maitland (7.7-49).
The women's Black Diamond Cup also kicked off with Killarney Vale (17.10-112), Cardiff (16.13-109) and Terrigal Avoca (14.22-106) all posting centuries against Warners Bay (2.2-14), Maitland (1.0-6) and Nelson Bay-Port Stephens (0.0-0) respectively. City (7.9-51) cruised past Wyong Lakes (0.1-1).
