The song won't be officially released to streaming platforms until Friday but landed on iTunes on Thursday where it made an immediate impact, charting above the likes of English artist Freya Ridings and Australian legends Paul Kelly and Paul Grabowsky.
Back in March Jemima's song Patient reached No.2 on the iTunes singer-songwriter chart.
Both singles will appear on Jemima's debut five-track EP - out on September 4 - which was recorded by Angus and Julia Stone producer Paul Pilsneniks in Byron Bay.
As You Were was inspired by Jemima's childhood memories of rummaging through her parents' collection of '60s pop records in the garage.
The single sees the Byron Bay-based artist incorporating saxophone, sleigh bells, a 1966 Hofner violin bass and girl-group doo-wop harmonies into her breezy pop sound.
