Cummings scored in the 12th minute at Adamstown Oval in the round-four NNSW NPL game. Weston equalised via Aaron Niyonkuru in the 47th before Bears defender Jordan Jackson sent off for a poor challenge in the 51st.
Rosebud, though, could not capitalise, much to the frustration of coach Shane Cansdell-Sherriff.
"We just didn't seem to take advantage," Cansdell-Sherriff said. "At one stage they only had nine because someone was off with a broken nose for five, six minutes and you wouldn't have thought they were short.
"It was good to get a point but performance-wise, we weren't very good."
Adding to his frustration was the loss of Cummings, who was hurt when Weston goalkeeper Scott Carter landed heavily on him in the 92nd minute. Carter jumped to grab the ball above Cummings, who fell to the ground before the keeper came down on him, sparking an angry reaction from Adamstown players. Cummings returned after getting treatment.
"He fractured a rib and the muscle was pulled away from the sternum, so he was in a fair bit of pain, but I'm not sure how long he's out for," Cansdell-Sherriff said.
Adamstown, seventh on four points, take on second-last Lakes (one point) in their round-three game at 8.15pm at Macquarie Field.
The Roosters earned their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw with Charlestown Azzurri at Lisle Carr Oval on Sunday. Beau Wilkins was sent off for two yellow cards, the second for dissent, late in the game and will miss the Rosebud match.
