Winter in Wollombi
Wollombi Valley is known as an artistic hub and is welcoming visitors to three new galleries: Roadside Gallery, Blender Gallery and Gallery 33 Laguna. The Fireshed Gallery is also open and showcasing the work of local artists. While you're there, you can pop in to Noyce Brothers Wines for a tasting or browse Wollombi General Store. Just remember to social distance and respect COVID requirements.
Knights v Tigers
It's round 13 and the Newcastle Knights are back on home soil tonight seeking a win against the Wests Tigers. The Knights had a strong start to the season and were in the top four but two consecutive losses means they are in danger of dropping out of the top eight. Cheer them on at McDonald Jones Stadium, Broadmeadow - if you can tick every box on the COVID-19 checklist, of course. Kick-off is at 5.30pm.
Paris Grace on stage
It's been a hectic 2020 for Newcastle singer-songwriter Paris Grace despite coronavirus shutting down the music industry. In March she released her debut solo EP Oceans Carry Me Home and then in May her band Bluetide dropped their first EP, Passing Time. On Saturday you can hear Grace perform with Sione Puliuvea at the Hamilton Station Hotel from 9pm.
Piper Butcher
West Wallsend singer-songwriter Piper Butcher left quite an impression at the Wickham Park Hotel last month. So much so the country performer will return to the Wicko's stage on Saturday from 7pm. Despite being just 15, Butcher has already amassed an impressive live resume, which includes appearances at the Byron Bay Bluesfest and Tamworth Country Music Festival and supporting Glen Shorrock and Diesel.
