The Bennett Hotel became the fourth Newcastle venue in a week to close for deep cleaning, following the closure of the Lambton Park Hotel, Wallsend Diggers and Hotel Jesmond earlier this week.
About 8am on Thursday the nearby Greenroof Hotel confirmed health authorities advised its owners they had also hosted the case.
Sydney Junction Hotel has since been added to the list alongside McDonald Jones Stadium, Queens Wharf Hotel and the Hopsmiths sports bar at Wests Lambton.
Bennett patrons have been advised the positive case attended the pub between 5.30pm and 10pm on Friday, July 31.
The Greenroof said it had been told the case was on premises between 10pm and midnight on the same evening.
"If you were at The Bennett during this period, you will receive a call from the NSW Department of Health today informing you of the necessary testing and self-isolation requirements," the pub said in a statement.
"Although we do not have a lot of information at hand presently, we will make sure to pass on any relevant information as soon as possible."
The Greenroof said that while it would be allowed to reopen after professional cleaning was complete, doors would stay shut until Friday.
"All of our staff who were on during this time are now oin self-isolation and being tested this morning," the hotel said in a statement.
"If you were at The Greenroof during these times you will receive a call from Hunter New England Health today about getting tested and isolating."
The case that visited Hamilton has been confirmed as a relative of the Pius X student who tested positive.
The teenager caught a bus and played for a Newcastle Jets U15 side before the infection was detected.
