Adamstown and Fletcher-Maryland have emerged as clubs as the newly formed Suburban Districts competition was given the official green light for 2020-21.

They were two of nine member clubs joining the inaugural campaign, which was approved courtesy of a unanimous vote at the Newcastle District Cricket Association (NDCA) annual general meeting on Wednesday night.
Beresfield, Edgeworth, Kotara, Nelson Bay, Redhead, Valentine-Eleebana and Warners Bay have switched allegiances after previously playing under the Newcastle City and Suburban Cricket Association banner.
Paul Marjoribanks, re-elected for a 12th term as NDCA chairman, said it was a "landmark occasion for the association and Newcastle cricket".
Existing NDCA clubs have also expressed an interest in fielding sides for Suburban Districts, which will be limited overs competitions. Based on early estimations, Marjoribanks said he was anticipating at least 60 teams across several divisions
The season is due to get underway in October.
Meanwhile, Stockton's Ron Hancock, City's Tom Anderson, Wallsend's Jack Brown and Charlestown's Kath Pink were honoured with "Contribution to the Game" awards.
