Consecutive tries to Rosellas trio Sione Tuitupou Kuta, Dylan Parlane and Michael Hendry saw the hosts overcome the Butchers Boys, getting in front when it matters most for a 24-20 victory at Harker Oval on Sunday.
Central had led 14-6 at half-time and opened the scoring after the break courtesy of Fijian prop Junior Roqica's second try of the afternoon, but the 14-point advantage was reeled in by Wests during the final 30 minutes.
Elsewhere in fourth-round Newcastle Rugby League fixtures on Sunday and Souths easily accounted for Lakes 22-6 at Townson Oval and Maitland were beaten 26-18 by Wyong.
