Newcastle's Clare Wheeler has been unveiled in Sydney FC's 2020-21 squad.
The 22-year-old has played the past five W-League seasons for her home town and was the Jets co-captain last campaign.
The former Young Matildas midfielder was Newcastle's player of the year in 2018-19 as well as the Cheryl Salisbury medallist, which is based on dedication to the team on and off the pitch. Wheeler also picked up the Cheryl Salisbury medal for her efforts in Newcastle's 2017-18 season.
Last season then Jets coach Craig Deans rated her as one of the most important players in his young Newcastle squad.
Since making her W-League debut as a 15-year-old in December 2013, Wheeler made 67 appearances for the Jets. She is currently playing for Sydney University in the National Premier League NSW Women's.

They include captain Teresa Polias, who has 144 W-League matches to her name and W-League Golden Boot winner Remy Siemsen. Former Jets striker Cortnee Vine has also signed with Sydney from Western Sydney.
The Sydney FC 2020-21 squad is: Teresa Polias (captain), Ellie Brush, Ally Green, Mackenzie Hawkesby, Angelique Hristodoulou, Princess Ibini, Rachel Lowe, Jada Mathyssen-Whyman, Charlotte McLean, Liz Ralston, Taylor Ray, Charlize Rule, Remy Siemsen, Natalie Tobin, Cortnee Vine, Clare Wheeler.
