But fears he may face another lengthy stint on the sideline have been dispelled with scans indicating he has not suffered any further significant damage to his troublesome left knee.
Saifiti lasted just 26 minutes against Manly on Sunday before limping off in his first game back from missing a month of footy after tearing his posterior cruciate ligament.
It's understood he may missed a further one or two weeks with coach Adam O'Brien prepared to play the long game with his Origin prop to ensure he is 100 percent fit.
With Saifiti ruled out, his brother Jacob will again step up into the starting role alongside David Klemmer in the frontrow with Pasami Saulo returning from suspension and added to the bench in the only change from the squad that accounted for Manly.
