FIRE has destroyed a yacht at Warners Bay in the middle of the night despite the best efforts of fire crews.
Firefighters were called to The Esplanade shortly after 1.30am on Thursday amid reports of a boat fire.

They found a docked yacht ablaze beside a jetty and used foam to smother the flames while they doused it with 38mm hoses.
"Crews worked to contain the fire to the yacht and prevent further damage to the jetty, whilst trying to maintain the haul to prevent excess environmental spillage into the lake," firefighters said in a statement.
Hazardous material crews were called in after a small amount of fuel escaped the haul of the vessel, containing the spill.
The yacht was completely destroyed but firefighters managed to limit the damage to the jetty.
Maritime crews will begin salvage efforts later today.
