The 2020 decider is set for Saturday, November 14, much later than usual because of the delayed start to the coronavirus-affected season.
NDWHA vice-president Sharon Williams said warmer weather was one factor in potentially moving away from the traditional afternoon fixture but officials have previously considered a similar change.
Times have yet to be finalised but premier league could start around 6:30pm. The five lower grades, played across two fields at Newcastle International Hockey Centre, may get underway from 3:30pm.
Competition continues on Saturday with round 10. The three-week finals series is set to begin on October 31.
