The figures were announced on Tuesday while Premier Gladys Berejiklian was at a press conference in Albury, where she confirmed an easing of restrictions on the NSW and Victorian border. A 50-kilometre border zone will be implemented from Friday, allowing residents to cross with greater ease.
She described the border closure between states as a "decision of last resort".
"Pandemics are far from perfection when it comes to having to make decisions quickly and can I tell you, hand on heart, that one of the most difficult decisions I've made personally and the government has made during this pandemic has been closing the NSW-Victorian border," she said.
"Pleasingly having obviously heard the sustained concerns of the community and seeing the rates of infection... decline, from this Friday this border will be extended.
"From Friday, life will be much easier and less stressful for people on the border."
Restrictions have been in place on the NSW-Victoria border since early July.
