This latest 6000 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition was delivered by R Marine Sydney dealer representative Michael Joyce to a new owner who has a long association with Riviera motor yachts. The 6000 will be his seventh Riviera in the past 13 years, with his most recent Riviera being her sistership the 5400 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition.
The single-level layout of the 6000 Sport Yacht in particular attracted the new owner, who was looking for a relaxed and social style of boating. It carries a surprising amount of volume internally and was the ideal size for the new owner to handle by himself.
The owner plans to spend every weekend aboard his new Riviera with his partner. He will take the 6000 on short trips to Port Stephens, Newcastle and Pittwater, with an extended trip up the coast to the Whitsundays for winter on the itinerary.
"The 6000 Sport Yacht has become a popular choice for those who truly enjoy the luxuries she affords," Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst says.
"We are indeed fortunate at Riviera to have been able to maintain production at these times, and focusing on the care of our staff, dealership representatives and owners.
"Milestone achievements such as these bring great pride to our highly skilled Riviera team members, each of whom have a passion for quality that drives us to continually refine our model range."
On the Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition just launched, the main saloon deck hard top is extended to integrate an electric sunroof, giving the boat an aesthetic overhaul. The roof provides protection for the cockpit, which has twin lounges, dining table, wet bar and barbecue centre.
Below the cockpit there is a big tender garage with a built-in electric winch for easy launch or retrieval. There is a large sun lounge on the foredeck.
Perhaps the biggest changes are to interiors. Stepping into the expanded saloon, the galley is aft to port. Glass skylights richly illuminate the aft area of the saloon, and a radar arch allows the sunroof to slide beneath. Forward is a sunroof that, with the addition of side-opening windows and aft awning window, creates a seamless indoor-outdoor world.
The helm station of the Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht is offset to starboard, and the streamlined console features more space, more screens and optional electronics.
There are two layout designs available below deck. The Classic option offers four staterooms with the master stateroom amidships and an optional lower lounge; while the Presidential layout has three staterooms including a master suite that extends the full beam.
The 6000 is powered by twin 10.8-litre Volvo Penta D11 IPS 950s delivering 725hp each.
The Riviera Platinum Edition Sport Yachts range made its debut at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show last year.
All Platinum Editions feature timber finishes and soft, rich furnishings.

The popular Sea-Doo RXP-X 300 will land in Australia later this year. Sea-Doo has significantly upgraded its RXP-X300 model, which is powered by a 1630cc three-cylinder Rotax engine, putting out 300 horsepower. Sea-Doo says the 2021 edition will hit 100kmh in under three seconds, making it their fastest jet-ski ever. With a deep-vee hull and new deck made from acrylic-coated fibreglass, the RXP-X 300 is more responsive, combining low-speed manoeuvrability and high-speed stability. The first 2021 models will be priced at $24,799, and will be available in either purple and yellow or yellow and orange.
