NRLW-bound Meakes, formally of Cardiff South and now living at Scone, performed strongly in both attack and defence as the Roosters defeated the North Sydney Bears 16-10 at Bankwest Stadium.
Meakes, an Australian sevens representative who crossed codes from union earlier this year, helped Central Coast make it a minor-major double in the NSW Women's Premiership.
"It's pretty surreal. I'm just so happy I could even pick up this sport. Playing rugby at the start of the year, then all this COVID-19 stuff, coming in as a new player and being welcomed in. To win this award is a credit to the girls and the coaching staff," Meakes told the Newcastle Herald.
Central Coast five-eighth Bobbi Law, a Port Stephens product now based at Shortland, opened the scoring in the eighth minute.
Roosters winger Claire Reed nabbed a double before half-time, extending their lead to 10 on both occasions.
North Sydney reduced the margin to 10-4 and 14-10 either side of the break.
Wallsend resident Mel Howard slotted a penalty goal with less than 60 seconds left on the clock.
Roosters lock Hannah Southwell, a NSW and Jillaroos representative from Cameron Park, was named 2020 player of the year.
CENTRAL COAST ROOSTERS 16 (Claire Reed 2, Bobbi Law tries; Law, Mel Howard goals) def NORTH SYDNEY BEARS 10 (Moniqca Mo'ale, Shontelle Stowers tries; Chloe Leaupepe goal).
