A MAN has died after a fatal fall from a fourth storey in Newcastle East, police have confirmed.

Officers were called to Scott Street near Watt Street about 8.40pm on Monday after reports the man had fallen from a hotel.
Paramedics treated the man but were unable to save him.
"The man is yet to be formally identified, however, is believed to be aged 37," NSW Police said in a statement.
Forensic specialists examined the area, which was designated a crime scene as they scoured for clues.
Police said initial inquiries indicated that the death was not suspicious.
Investigations are ongoing into the circumstances of the fatal incident.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
