A late Jarrod Flanagan try has helped Souths sneak into the Newcastle Rugby League decider following a 28-24 victory over minor premiers Wyong in Sunday's elimination semi-final at Maitland Sportsground.

Trailling by two, Lions winger Flanagan crossed in the south-eastern corner in the 78th minute to regain the lead and see the club qualify for a third grand final in the space of five years.
It was a see-sawing battle between Souths and the Roos, who looked like they had done enough to progress and meet fellow semi-final winners Cessnock before conceding that four pointer in the closing stages.
Lions halfback Jason Keelan converted from the sideline to extend the lead.
Souths had opened with the first three tries and held a 16-4 advantage at the main break.
Wyong leveled up after back-to-back efforts before a Josh Mantellato penalty goal put them ahead 18-16 around the hour mark.
Lions centre Dylan Lucas (22-18) and Roos prop Jake Lewis (24-22) then traded tries but the Central Coast club had their noses in front with 10 minutes remaining,
Cessnock beat Western Suburbs 38-14 on Saturday.
Newcastle RL grand finals are scheduled for Maitland on October 18.
