A NSW Police spokesperson said the Port Stephens school was put into a lockdown for a "short period" this morning as a "precaution" after a physical altercation between students.
Police attended the scene.
A Department of Education spokesperson said students were kept in from 10.30am as a precaution "while an incident involving two students was resolved by staff and police".
"Nobody was hurt and school resumed operating as normal at 11.20," the spokesperson said.
"There was no effect on the HSC exams on site."
