Alison Ellis studies the migratory journey of Australian shorebirds over the Australian summer. Her exhibition Birds of the Wetlands at the Hunter Wetlands Centre concentrates on those birds who visit the Hunter Region, using the age-old printmaking technique of lithography Ellis has been able to render her drawings of birds with precision. Her works are then printed to mimic information posters, that combine images and text to tell the stories of the birds.
