A new head coach comes in, works a small miracle, gets a better offer, then takes off like a rat up a drainpipe.
To be a Jets fan, with all the highs and lows, you need a good heart.
Which brings us to a study just out that measured the heart rates of football fans from the English Premier League.
The study involved 200 supporters from each Premier League team, wearing watches with heart rate monitors the day before and during two of their team's games.
The heart rates of fans were measured to answer this question: Which Premier League team's fans are the most passionate?
Turns out that fans from one of the smallest clubs in the league, Burnley, were the most passionate.
They averaged a heart rate of 71 beats per minute before each game and 135 beats per minute during games.
Of course, it could just be that Burnley fans aren't the healthiest, so their hearts tend to beat a bit quicker than normal. But we reckon it's more likely that Burnley fans have more heart. They're from the north of England, after all.
If a similar study was done in the A-League, it'd be interesting to see how Jets fans rate. But it'd be even more interesting to see how Jets chief Lawrie McKinna's heart rate is going at the moment.
Lego Love
Glen Fredericks, of Adamstown Heights, decided to try his luck with the ladies on Tinder.
In his first attempt, he used the nickname Brickhead, which refers to his love of Lego.
He went with this description: "Looking for a married woman, recently cheated on, mad and scorned, who is willing to sell her husband's Lego collection for cheap."
Glen said the reactions were mostly positive, even though his profile picture was a Lego costume.
"Plenty of women were swiping right because they found the profile funny, charming and cute. But aside from a few coffee dates there was no Lego haul to be had," he said.
Glen did, however, enjoy the conversations over coffee.
He decided he wanted more. Take it easy, folks. No impure thoughts, here. He means more coffee catch-ups.
He soon discovered that there's "two things that Tinder won't let you change on your profile - your age and your name".
He feared this could be problematic.
Even with real photos of a man not wearing a costume, who would want to meet up for a date with someone whose name rhymed with a word that describes a "stupid, irritating or ridiculous man"?
