Elder and his father, trainer Darren Elder, have last-start winner Shannonstheman (race four) and Charolais Shannon (five), both from gate four, on the nine-event card.
The Elders had their greatest success with the now-retired Shannonsablast, which won at group 3 level and competed in the 2015 Interdominion series in a career featuring 36 victories and $433,438 in stakes. Friday night's pair are also owned by Peter and Marie Neil from Shannon Springs Standardbreds.
Eight-year-old Shannonstheman broke through for the Elders at his ninth start for the stable last week at Newcastle, leading all the way in a slick 1:55:8 mile rate for the 2030 metres to win by 14m. The Black Prince holds the track record at 1:54:1.
Brad was surprised with the time and finishing effort but not the result. The stable plans to take Shannonstheman to Menangle the following week for heats of a group 3 series.
"He made a mess of them last week," he said.
"He got a lot of unnecessary pressure early and down the back he felt like he was struggling, then I looked back, he was three in front and he just kept going.
"The time was a bit surprising but the first quarter made that. He's had a lot of good runs and I think three starts back he got home in 26 something himself, coming from last to run third.
"He just hasn't drawn to find the top, whereas the other night we thought we'd push the button and see what happens. I think he should lead and win again."
Charolais Shannon has also come from the stables of Peter Bullock at Bathurst. The six-year-old will have his first start for the Elders on Friday night after a strong trial at Maitland when a close second to Never Know Charlie.
He broke and missed the start at his most recent race at Bathurst a month ago before hitting a crashed rival in the straight and not finishing.
"I've been wanting him for quite a while and I've finally got him so hopefully we can do a good job with him," Brad said.
"He trialed on Sunday and got beat probably half a neck going 1:58 at Maitland, so that's a good skip. I think he'll be a pretty good hope."
Elder believes two-year-old Blazin Heaven is another winning chance for his family.
The Kevin Pizzuto-owned filly led and won her first start for her new stable two weeks ago at Newcastle from gate three but she has a second-row draw to overcome in the eighth on Friday night.
"She's got super gate speed but unfortunately she's drawn the back row," Brad said.
"But the one horse [Ideal Terror] gets out good and I think worst-case scenario we're three back the pegs.
"She's not a bad little filly. If she gets the right run, she'll be hard to shake.
"I think I can definitely run top three on all three of those."
Race one is set down for 6.03pm.
