Blue Bronte made a stunning return to racing two weeks ago, winning in a career-best 15.18 seconds for the 272 metres at The Gardens. Miles-trained Laurie's Flyer, which made a winning return of his own at Gosford on Tuesday, holds the track record at 15.13.
Blue Bronte's victory came at her first run since falling then clashing with her rivals as they came out of the catching pen at Wentworth Park on September 2. She was concussed but her other injuries were minor.
Miles was pleased to have her back but he was not surprised to see her dominate. She has won all eight attempts at the Gardens 272m and 22 of 29 overall.
"It was very good," Miles said. "She's a very good dog and when everything is right with her, she'll go real good."
She will be backed to blitz her rivals again on Friday in race five (272m), where she has box one. Miles expected her to push for the record if the track was suitable after this week's rain. He had no plans to return to Wentworth Park in the near future.
"I'll give her a go at quite a few other places before I go back," he said. "I was lucky enough to trial her down there after the last the other night because I was there with another dog, but it was only on her own.
"We'll just build her back up to the 400s. She wouldn't run 500, I don't think."
"Some people say we're lazy trainers, with 400s, but the dogs can either run the 500 or they can't."
