Mr Robinson, of Robinson Property, has listed the large three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment which takes up the entire top floor of boutique complex 1 Scott Street and said early interest had included overseas enquiry.
"It's pretty special," he said. "It's 497 square metres and as big as a block of land. It's right out on that peninsula, above the Newcastle Ocean Baths, the furthest east you're ever going to get a building. It's the entire eighth floor and it faces north.
"There are only 29 apartments in the building and it won't be done again in terms of its location and its size. It is the apartment to be in."

The record apartment sale for Newcastle is $6 million, set in 2017 with the off-the-plan purchase of the entire top floor of Washington House in Iris Capital's East End development in the Hunter Street Mall.
Meanwhile, PRD Newcastle and Lake Macquarie's Mark Kentwell, Chasse Ede and Natalie Tonks have also listed a large penthouse in Newcastle East. They are marketing a three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment at 7/71 Scott Street.
It occupies a prized north-eastern corner position, has over 484 square metres of space and exclusive use of the rooftop. A guide of $3.4 million to $3.7 million has been set and it is open Saturday at 11am.
Early interest
A Bar Beach house with a pool and city views has been listed by David Phelan, of Dalton Partners, with a guide he says is "affordable entry to a blue-ribbon street".
He is marketing 28 Fenton Avenue with a guide of $1.89 million and reported good early interest ahead of its first inspection at 11.30am on Saturday.
"It's very hard to get anything in Bar Beach under $2 million," Mr Phelan said.
The house is set on a block 613 square metres in size and has three bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Listings over $1m
First National Newcastle City have listed a renovated five-bedroom 1930s Californian Bungalow with a separate garden studio and a pool at 27 Stanley Street, Merewether with a guide of $2.4 million.
A four-bedroom home on a block 1059 square metres in size at 45 Seacourt Avenue in Dudley is being sold by McKiernan Real Estate with a guide of $1.6 million.
PRD Newcastle and Lake Macquarie are marketing a four-bedroom residence with a freestanding six-car shed plus an attached double garage on 2864 square metres of land at 32 Cowmeadow Road in Mount Hutton for $1.25 million to $1.35 million.
A four-bedroom house with a pool at 8 Hovea Place in Redhead is being marketed by First National Newcastle City with a guide of $1.2 million to $1.3 million.
$500,000 to $1m
Dalton Parners New Lambton have listed a three-bedroom brick home with a freestanding double garage and workshop at 25 Berrico Avenue in Maryland for $625,000 to $650,000.
A three-bedroom house at 8 Roath Street in Cardiff is being sold by Andriessen Property with a guide of $500,000 to $550,000.
Robinson Property are marketing a renovated three-bedroom house on a block 329 square metres in size at 6 Arthur Street in Mayfield for $650,000 to $690,000.
Under $500,000
A one-bedroom apartment in the Terminus building at 103/111 Scott Street in Newcastle is on the market through LJ Hooker Hamilton with a guide of $400,000 to $440,000. Street Property have a modern two-bedroom townhouse at 7/9 Milgate Street in Wallsend for $399,000 to $429,000.
