Zane Pearce top scored with 69, Dan Bailey made a half-century and claimed seven wickets across the two-day match at Cahill Oval while regular bowlers Jace Lawson (neck) and Ray Cooper (groin) were both injured.
Belmont ended up securing maximum points by an innings and three runs with almost 40 overs to spare on Saturday.
Resuming at 3-54 in pursuit of CBs 111, Belmont went past the total five down and eventually declared at 9-186 before bundling out the visitors for 72 in the second innings. At one stage they were 5-9.
Stockton were the other main movers from round six, jumping to fourth position with captain Nick Foster scoring 102 against City at Learmonth Park. The Seagulls (5-228) returned at 1-81 and were 98 in front when they declared but the Sabres batted out the day to end up 6-117.
Merewether pair Ben Egan (121 not out) and skipper Simon Moore (103 not out) both notched up personal milestones against Hamilton-Wickham at Passmore Oval after resuming as the unbeaten batsmen. The Lions declared 179 runs ahead at 3-261 but were unable to secure maximum points. The Pumas dug in to finish 4-127 from 55 overs.
Wests already had first-innings points in the bag and a 32-run lead with five wickets in hand, however, the recently crowned Tom Locker Cup champions opted not to push for outright points against the Tigers at Wallsend Oval. Undefeated leaders the Rosellas called it a day at 7-195 despite bowling out Wallsend for 91. They added 2-72 to the scoreboard on day two.
Brendon Charlton (88) fell 12 short of a century and gave Toronto a chance but ultimately the Kookaburras were unable to chase down Waratah-Mayfield's 263, being dismissed for 212 at Ron Hill Oval. Visiting captain Nathan Hudson took 4-39 to accompany his 144 from day one.
Varun Sharma (69 not out) was the mainstay for hosts University, who resumed at 3-81 and only lost skipper Andrew Harriott (25) before reeling in Charlestown's 135 to record their first win of the season. The Sea Dragons reached 166 before the visiting Magpies finished their second innings at 5-112.
Meanwhile, University have officially lodged an appeal in regards to a recent NDCA judiciary decision, which ruled in favour of a tied result between the Sea Dragons and Waratah-Mayfield standing despite a controversial umpire call in the final over of the match.
LADDER: Wests 33; Belmont 27; Hamwicks 24; Stockton 23; Wallsend 22; Charlestown 19; Waratah-Mayfield, Toronto 18; Merewether 17; City 16; University 13; Cardiff-Boolaroo 3.
