The silken-skilled midfielder scored six goals, provided five assists and created more goal-scoring opportunities than any player in the A-League.
Peteratos' departure to Al-Wedha left a big hole.
But Jets caretaker coach Craig Deans is confident that Olyroos Ramy Najjarine is the right man to fill the role.
Najjarine, who is on loan from Melbourne City, scored a first-half brace to help steer the Jets to a 5-0 shut out of Northern NSW champions Edgeworth at Jack McLaughlan Oval on Saturday.
"Ramy hasn't consistently played a lot of football at this level," Deans said. "It was good for him to get involved in his first game at home for the Jets and show people what he has got. I thought he was fairly impressive. He has to come in and fill Dimi's shoes which is not easy. Dimi had been here for a while and was one of the better players in the competition last year. Those are big shoes to fill, but I'm more than confident he can do it.
"He has a lot of positive attributes about him. He can shoot, he can dribble, he can pass, he finds good space. He has a really good work ethic with the ball and defensively he works really hard. I really like him and think he has a lot."
Najjarine made a late run into the box and headed home to put the Jets up 2-0. He added a second shortly afterwards when he swung a low shot under the keeper.
"He made a late run into the box and got a header at the back post," Deans said. "That's something we haven't had in the past, midfielders who run forward and get in the box, score headers and score off crosses. That is something we are looking to change. Steve Ugarkovic and Angus have the potential to score five goals a season."
Left wingback Connor O'Toole also scored a double as the Jets jumped to a 4-0 lead at half-time.
"It was a quite a good game," Deans said.
"Edgeworth were good. We scored two goals in the final 10 minutes of the first half. Before that they were difficult to break down. They defended very well.
"We are still working on everyone getting to know each other. It just about getting the combinations working. We created quite a few chances. We have a little bit of work to do in the final third.
"Connor scored a really good goal from about 25 metres. Edgey hadn't played in a few weeks and were a bit rusty. We had most of the ball."
Trialist Valentino Yuel was again strong.
"Val is dangerous and adds something different to the team," Deans said. "He has speed and power and makes good runs. He is very different to Roy, which is good. We have been asking Roy to stay more central in goal-scoring positions and letting Val do the leg work. It will take a few weeks for those two to strike up an understanding."
Ali Abbas has started training with the Jets and is likely to be involved against Macarthur on Thursday in Maitland.
