BEACH WATCH

After a flat period we should see an increase for today though conditions will be messy after the overnight southerly change. Shorebreaks to be full early and slight improvement as tide runs out. Swell from the S/E to South at 1m to 1.5m. Wind fresh South easing S/E late afternoon. Long gutters have formed and try the inner reefs first up at Cowrie and Merewether. Choppy shorebreaks at Dixon and Pogos. Southern corners of Dudley and Catho to the south. Lack of swell an no protection up at Port Stephens. Warmer current about and slight sweeps running to the northern corners. Water temp 20C. - Dave Anderson
