Keolis Downer has announced changes to routes and timetables across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie buses with the new schedule to start on Sunday December 13.
Key improvements include an additional 45 trips per week across the network, the extension of bus route 23 to Newcastle East and changes to most bus timetables to "better reflect traffic congestion and travel times'.
"Bus timetables, including some school bus services, have had their timings tweaked to improve the efficiency of the network for our customers," Keolis Downer Hunter, General Manager, Mark Dunlop said.
"There have also been additional trips introduced each week. We have also extended the route 23 to Newcastle East in response to customer feedback."
He encouraged passengers to head to newcastletransport.info or their favourite travel app to plan their new trip.
