A contemporary four-bedroom house at 17 Lingard Street in Merewether lasted just two days on the market before being sold by PRD Newcastle and Lake Macquarie for $1.9 million.

A street record $1.05 million was paid for a two-storey Charlestown home at 44 Algona Road that was marketed by Darren Penn of Ray White Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.

Raine & Horne Newcastle reported the quick sales of two very different properties. Pat Collins said there was "an overwhelming response" to an original three-bedroom house with rear-lane access at 4 Vine Street in Mayfield that sold for $595,000 after its first open. A four-bedroom house at 10 Takari Place, Merewether was secured sight unseen by a Sydney buyer for $1.155 million.
