Police have charged a Central Coast L-plater after he was allegedly caught drink-driving and ran from officers.

Lake Macquarie police were patrolling Belmont about 9.45pm on Wednesday when they saw a Ford station wagon speeding in a 50km/h zone along the Pacific Highway.
Police said the officers stopped the driver in Belmont CBD but he allegedly ran from the scene.
The officers chased, but the man then met four other police who had just arrived in the area to help their colleagues.
The 24-year-old Gwandalan man allegedly recorded a blood-alcohol reading of 0.133 - he was also charged with not displaying L-plates on his car.
He face court on January 20.
