The Merewether middle-distance runner flew north on Friday ahead of this weekend's Queensland 5000 metre championships.
It follows wins and personal-best performances in Sydney (3000m) and Adelaide (5000m) throughout November.
Only recently have meets been made possible again with COVID-19 restrictions relaxed enough and state borders re-opening more broadly around the country.
"It's been so long since we've raced," Davies said.
"It's nice to get the ball rolling again and have that vibe around competition."
Davies returned by stopping the clock at 15 minutes and 30 seconds in a 5000m time trial in the South Australian capital, equalling her mark from national titles in Melbourne in February.
She backed this up at Homebush on November 21 with victory at the NSW 3000m Championships, going seven seconds under her previous top in 9:00.17 and bettering the 2006 meet record of Olympian Lisa Corrigan (9:00.34).
Davies now sets for Saturday's challenge in Brisbane where she faces Rio Olympian Jenny Blundell, who had been staying in Newcastle the past fortnight, and Lilli Burdon, who has come back from college in the US.
"I've had a good few weeks so hopefully I can keep that going," she said.
Athletics Australia released their 2020-21 summer calendar earlier this week with Davies eyeing off both the Zatopek:10, slated for Melbourne on January 26, and the Sydney Track Classic (March 13), which doubles as the national 5000m championships.
Next year's Tokyo Olympics remain a goal. Fellow Aussie athlete Jessica Hull has twice broken the qualfying time (15:10) for the women's 5000m.
"I'm on the cusp. It's hard but doable," Davies said.
The rescheduled World Cross Country Championships (10km) in Bathurst in 2022 are also on the horizon.
She trains in Newcastle under coach Scott Westcott.
