But as we count the days to the end of 2020, the holiday season is hard to ignore.
On Saturday, I found myself enjoying a coffee at a brand new coffee shop (MrSister's new storefront at Speers Point). The coffee was great, the baristas chilled and the shop was bursting with fresh energy. Wow, what an achievement in a relentless year.
Later, I headed off to a brewery (Shout) in a garage in the lonely surrounds of Steel River Industrial Estate. Again, on arrival there was nothing but positive, happy people, rejoicing in their brew and the time to enjoy it.
The holiday spirit is alive and well, if you take time to look and taste and listen and feel. And the Hunter Region has plenty to be proud of, plenty to be thankful for.
I hope these stories give you an idea of what's out there to appreciate as we head into the holidays.
