Drew Paterson, 29, appeared in court on Wednesday charged with supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug - which carries a maximum of life in jail - and possession of a prohibited drug.
Mr Paterson did not enter any pleas or apply for bail and the matter was adjourned to Raymond Terrace Local Court next week.
Police say the Hunter Regional Enforcement Squad established Strike Force Megig in October, 2020, to investigate the supply of drugs in the region. Following investigations, police say they arrested Mr Paterson at a caravan park on the Pacific Highway at Heatherbrae about 7.30pm on Tuesday.
A search of a cabin in the park allegedly uncovered more than a kilogram of cocaine and mobile phones.
