The luxurious offering atop GWH development Sky Residences, which is under construction at 509 Hunter Street in Newcastle, was released to market with a price of $3.3 million in December.
The penthouse, 1802, was bought by a local purchaser. GWH project sales manager Peter Kunov said "nothing else in the market compares to it".
Sky penthouse will feature three bedrooms, three bathrooms, two living spaces, two balconies, three car spaces and a prized north-east aspect. In total it will have 193 square metres of interior living space and 30 square metres of external space with breathtaking views from the harbour in the north to Bar Beach in the southeast.
It generated "a lot of enquiry" and due to the demand GWH have released two other premium apartments in Sky. One is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom penthouse also on the 18th floor at 1803 . It will have 168 square metres of internal space with two balconies and a price of $2.5 million.
"The aspect of the main penthouse was northeast. You can't get a better aspect," Mr Kunov said. "This is a different aspect. It is the whole back section of Sky and it looks over the lighthouse, all of Bar Beach, Merewether, Dixon Park, all the way through to Redhead. Level 18 of Sky is the only level that has three-metre high ceilings throughout the whole floor. We're expecting huge interest."
GWH have also released a north-facing sub-penthouse on level 17 which is north-facing. The four-bedroom sub-penthouse at 1701 has three bathrooms, three car spaces and is being sold for $2.8 million. It will feature 201 square metres of interior living space and two large patios.
Residents of the development will enjoy exclusive access to the complex's outdoor heated pool, gym and breathtaking rooftop terrace with kitchen and barbeque facilities.
Envied aspect in Highpoint
GWH project sales manager Peter Kunov described a sub-penthouse in Charlestown's tallest residential building as "good value for money".
He is marketing the sub-penthouse with a prized north-east aspect on level 15 at 1503/2 Charles Street, Charlestown. The apartment features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two car spaces and 100 square metres of internal space and views to Newcastle, Dudley and the Pacific Ocean.
The apartment has a king-sized master suite with views to the north, a walk-through robe and stylish modern bathroom. It is set for auction on January 30 with a guide of $899,000.
"We've had good interest," Mr Kunov said. "It's a unique opportunity for someone to get something that big in that area. It's brand new and a very unique buy."
Highpoint residents enjoy access to two private entertaining areas. One is a terrace garden on the level three podium and a rooftop terrace with 360 degree views.
Highpoint is the tallest building in the Lake Macquarie region and is over 80 per cent sold.
