An unbeaten 85 off 54 balls from Jacob Montgomery helped Wallsend Tigers cruise to an 82-run win over Stockton Seagulls in the Newcastle T20 Summer Bash on Thursday.

Montgomery blasted nine fours and two sixes at Farley Oval as the Tigers posted 3-161. Nathan Price (21) and Ryan Brooks (33) were the other major contributors. Nick Foster took 2-36.
The Seagulls lost regular wickets in the chase and were all out for 79 in 15 overs. Sam Jenkinsons top-scored with 19 as Muhammad Omer Farooq, Vali Graham and Alex Seamer took two wickets each.
The result left the Seagulls at the bottom of Pool B and lifted the Tigers to second with two wins from three games.
Also on Thursday, the Rebels suffered another hefty loss, this time going down by 99 runs to the Charlestown Magpies at Kahibah Oval.
The Rebels, a combined Suburban Districts competition side, lost by 142 runs when they debuted against Cardiff-Boolaroo.
The Magpies set up their win with a total of 5-182, headlined by former captain Jed Dickson's 55 runs off 33 balls. Luke Hitchcock (21), Josh Claridge (27), Jacob Richardson (29) and Ben Parsons (35) were also among the runs. Byron Jensen grabbed two wickets for the Rebels.
The Rebels batted out their 20 overs, finishing on 6-83. Jarrod Moxey top-scored with 27. Rory Maddison took 3-11 and Isaac Wallace 2-10 for Charlestown off their four overs.
The Magpies had lost their opening game in Pool A to Hamilton-Wickham.
